LES PÊCHEURS DE PERLES (LA FÊTE)

Premiere at Rose Hotel bangkok, June 15-16, 2015 / Photo by Juan Carlos Toledo

In 2014, during his three months’ residency in Paris, supported by the Embassy of France and the Institut Français, Jitti Chompee was inspired by Picasso’s Cubist paintings and works to develop new choreographic and scenographic approaches in a different perspective.

Continuing his work to blend both eastern and western artistic expressions, he brings us to a free and cross-cultural interpretation of The Pearl Fishers (Les Pêcheurs de Perles), based on the famous opera by Georges Bizet. Jitti Chompee provides an alternative voice to international standards, both aesthetically and socially.
